The Home Minister Mr. P. Chidambaram has assured a free and fair probe into the alleged fake CD controversy involving eminent lawyer Shanti Bhushan. He told reporters in New Delhi on Monday that he has been assured by Delhi Police that there will be a through probe. He said the CD will be examined in at least two laboratories for separate reports. Shanti Bhushan's son Prashant Bhushan on Sunday claimed that the CD purportedly containing conversations between Shashi Bhushan and Samajwadi Party leaders Mulayam Singh Yadav and Amar Singh, is fabricated to tarnish the image of civil society's representatives in the Joint Drafting Committee of a comprehensive Lok Pal Bill.
