The Home Minister has urged all the political parties from Andhra Pradesh to show accommodation and good will on the issue of Telangana. In his opening remarks at the meeting with the representatives of eight recognised political parties of the state, Mr. Chidamabaram said that normalcy must be restored in Andhra Pradesh and the agitations and bandhs halted to maintain law and order. Mr Chidambaram said, each of the political parties represented in the meeting has the responsibility to resolve their differences, find appropriate solution to the issue. He said that it is in the interest of all sections of the people in the state that peace and harmony prevails while the consultations are taking place. He cautioned all political parties that there are anti-democratic forces that would be happy if the issue is not resolved. The Home Minister said that as stated earlier, the agenda of the meeting is to deliberate on the mechanism and lay down a road map for consultations on the issue.<br/>AIR correspondent reports that the meeting of major political parties on Telangana issue is now in progress in New Delhi. Representatives of the eight registered political parties, from Andhra Pradesh: Congress, PDP, BJP, TRS, Praja Rajayam, CPI(M), CPI and MIM are participating in the discussions on the issue.<br/>Earlier on Monday, a series of consultations were held in the capital. The Prime Minister discussed the matter with the senior colleagues. The Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister also met the Home Minister Mr. P. Chidambaram. The TRS Chief Mr. Chandersekhar Rao has demanded that Parliament should enact a law to facilitate the formation of the Telangana state.
