Chidambaram asks naxalites to abjure violence & return to democratic path

The Home Minister Mr. P. Chidambaram said that naxalites must abjure violence and return to democratic path. Addressing the media in Mumbai, he said, violence is simply not acceptable in a democratic country like India. <br/><br/>He said, all issues concerned to naxalites like development, deprivation, governance and corruption can be resolved through dialogues with the concerned state government. Mr. Chidambaram said that the Centre can work together with the naxalites as both represent the same cause of the people. He said, the recent spurt in violence is due to the fact that security forces are not allowing them to grow their base. He said, security forces will take all the measures to contain the naxal violence by apprehending the culprits.<br/><br/>Earlier, he slammed the Maharashtra Nav Nirman sena for its anti-migrant politics, saying the outsider campaign will be rejected by the people. Appealing to the people of Maharashtra to vote for Congress-NCP Alliance, Mr. Chidambaram claimed that the new government will provide a safer and most secure Maharashtra. He said, it was because of the high growth of Maharashtra that India achieveda growth rate of nine per cent and promised all help to the state to maintain its high growth path.<br/>
