Former Union Minister P Chidambaram today said if the NDA government wants to target him, they should do so directly. His remarks came following raids in some places connected with his son Karti's associates. The senior Congress leader added that he and his family are prepared to face, what he called, a malicious onslaught launched by government.<br/><br/>The Enforcement Directorate and Income Tax conducted raids at two firms linked to Karti in connection with money laundering probe in the Aircel-Maxis case. The Aircel-Maxis deal is being probed by both ED and CBI and the case is a part of the overall probe in the 2G scam case.<br/><br/>In Chennai, the Income Tax and Enforcement Directorate officials conducted a joint search operation on two firms today which are said to be linked to Mr Karti Chidambaram, son of former union finance minister P.Chidambaram. <br/><br/>Investigations by the sleuths of the two agencies are going on into the reported cash and share transactions of the private firm Advantage Strategic Consulting in the telecom provider Aircel and also an hospital chain, on which today's searches were made.
