An alleged top Naxal Commander from Chhattisgarh has been arrested in a swift operation at Rajaram Khandla in Aheri taluka of the Naxal-infested Gadchiroli district of Maharashtra.According to the information received from the police sources on Sunday, the accused Somaji Ayutu Made, who is working as the Commander of Aheri Militia Dalam hails from Parainar in Dantewada district of Chhattisgarh, had crossed the border for treatment and local purchases. Acting on a tip-off, the Gadchiroli police deployed a trap and arrested him yesterday, the sources said.Made had earlier worked as deputy commander of Aheri, Perlimi and Bhamagarh Dalams, they claimed adding that he was actively involved in many encounters with police, including those at Nandigaon, Korapalli and Kandoli Burgi. He was also wanted in connection with cases of murder, attempt to murder and triggering landmine blasts.
