Chhattisgarh Vidhasabha stalled for the third day today

The session of the Chhattisgarh Vidhasabha was stalled for the third day today over the non-payment of paddy bonus to the farmers of the state. The Opposition Congress members were demanding that the government should declare the payment of the bonus of Rs.270 to the farmers as promised by the ruling party’s resolution during the last assembly elections. Following this the house today also witnessed repeated spells of slogan shouting by the agitated Congress members demanding the resignation of the Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh. The Speaker had to execute the business of the house amidst the uproar and adjourned the house for the rest of the day. It may be mentioned here that the vidhan sabha had witnessed similar scenes yesterday leading to its adjournment for the day.
