The Chhattisgarh Vidhan Sabha's budget session began with Governor Biswabhushan Harichandan's customary address today.  Addressing the house, Governor outlined the Vishnu Deo Sai government's commitment to usher in a new era of good governance, drawing inspiration from Prime Minister Narendra Modi's principles.<br />''<br />''Highlighting achievements since its inception, he said the government has prioritized fulfilling promises to citizens, focusing on justice, relief, and development state-wide.<br />''He said plans to provide permanent housing to 18 lakh rural families were initiated, alongside efforts to ensure 100% clean water coverage through the 'Jal Jeevan Mission'. Modernizing the police force, including equipping them with modern weaponry and infrastructure, is paramount to combat Maoist threats, he added.<br />''<br />''Additionally, the government is steadfast in eradicating the Maoist menace, prioritizing essential amenities, education, and healthcare in affected areas. Economic acceleration through resource utilization and fostering an investor-friendly climate with legal safeguards and welfare-focused compensation schemes are key government objectives. The budget session, which is scheduled to conclude on March one, will have 20 sittings. The annual budget for fiscal 2024-25 will be presented on February 9.<br />
