BJP veteran and tribal leader from Chhattisgarh, Nand Kumar Sai, has been appointed as chairman of National Commission for Schedule Tribes. Sai will take oath on February 28 at New Delhi. A veteran tribal leader, who was state BJP president during undivided Madhya Pradesh, was the first leader of the opposition in the Chhattisgarh assembly after the state was carved out in year 2000. He was also member of the 14th Lok Sabha of India during the period of 2004-2009 and represented the Sarguja constituency of Chhattisgarh. Later, he became a member of the Rajya sabha.
