More than 27 lakhs students in Chhattisgarh will now get their monthly scholarship on-line. In a recent decision, the state government has decided to issue ‘Sikshya Sangi Chhatrabruti’ card to the students of the SC/ST and OBC category so that they can avail of their monthly scholarship through any of the ATMs of the nationalized Banks spread across the state.The cards to be issued by the Central Bank of India will carry the logo of the state government. It has also been decided that those areas, especially the naxal affected forested areas where no such bank ATMs exist, the government will run mobile ATMS to facilitate the distribution of scholarship to the students.The state government now doles out more than 170 crore rupees as pre and post-matric scholarship to the students.
