Chhattisgarh: State Health Minister T S Singhdeo announces not to participate in assembly proceedings

In Chhattisgarh, senior Congress leader and State Health Minister T. S. Singhdeo today announced in the Vidhan Sabha that he would not participate in the Assembly proceedings until the State Government cleared air over the allegations levelled against him by a tribal legislator that he faced threat to life from him.<br />''<br />''During the Zero Hour, Opposition began pressing for a probe by an Assembly Committee into the allegations levelled by tribal MLA Brihaspati Singh on the incident in which youth smashed vehicle in the convoy of the Congress legislator in Ambikapur town.<br />''<br />''Health Minister T. S. Singhdeo, against whom the legislator had levelled allegations, stood up saying that it is now too much and the matter is very serious. Stating that everyone knows about his character and reputation of his family, the senior Congress leader announced that he would not participate in the proceedings of the house until the government makes its stand clear on the issue.<br />''<br />''Mr Singhdeo said, he did not think it proper to remain in the house in the present circumstances. Later, he left the house.<br />''<br />''Earlier, the Home Minister Tamradwaj Sahu read out a statement on the incident.<br />''<br />''<span style="color: #000000;">Trouble began on Saturday evening after a group of youth intercepted a follow vehicle of tribal legislator Brihaspati Singh and smashed its windowpanes over a road rage incident. Police have already arrested the accused and a case has been registered against them.</span><br />
