Chhattisgarh police intensify search operations in Bastar

While there was a relative lull across the state due to today’s bandh call by the Congress as a mark of respect to the policemen martyred in Dantewada on Tuesday, police in Chhattisgarh today intensified its search operation in the naxal affected Bastar area.

During the search, police recovered about 10 pressure bombs which were later defused. Four air-force helicopters have also been pressed into service for the search operation and for supplying logistics to the jawans stationed in remote localities.

Meanwhile, the state police chief Mr Biswaranjan together with D.G CRPF today inspected the site of the naxal attack near Chintalnar in Dantewada district.

On the other hand, today’s Chhattisgarh bandh remained peaceful with a mixed reaction. Many organizations, political and otherwise, including the Congress paid rich tributes to the deceased jawans.
