<span style="color: #222222;">In Chhattisgarh, lockdown period has been extended in many districts including capital Raipur till May 5 in an effort to contain spread of COVID infection. Currently, there is a complete lockdown in all 28 districts of the state. Meanwhile, Railways are playing an important role in ensuring the smooth supply of medical oxygen needed in various states for treatment of Covid patients.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">&nbsp;</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Raipur correspondent reports that&nbsp;Railways recently ran the first Oxygen Express from Visakhapatnam to Maharashtra via Chhattisgarh to overcome the shortage of medical oxygen. Through this special train, tankers filled with liquid oxygen were transported to Nagpur and Nasik cities of Maharashtra. Keeping in mind the sensitivity of liquid oxygen, railways had to make special arrangements along with training their staff to transport it.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">&nbsp;</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Ramps were made in a very short period of time. Considering various obstacles such as ghats, bridges and tunnels, a plan was prepared for the entire route. Also, a green corridor was made to transport these tankers to Maharashtra in the shortest possible time. This entire operation was monitored from the top level. It took much less time to transport these medical oxygen tankers through railways than by road.&nbsp;</span><br />'' &nbsp;<br />
