The Chhattisgarh government has ordered all the district collectors and Chief executive officers of Zilla Panchayats to take stringent action against the striking sikshya karmis in the state. Following the instruction, thousands of sikshya karmis were arrested on Sunday in different districts of the state.About 2 lakh sikshya karmis in the state are agitating since the first of this month, demanding their absorption in the department of school education and the implementation of the 6th Pay Commission pay scales for them. Following the agitation, school education across the state has been affected.
