Chhattisgarh is all set for the second phase of elections in 72 assembly constituencies that goes to polls on Tuesday.
The electoral fate of 842 candidates, including 75 women, will be decided on Tuesday.
Tight security arrangements have been made in all the areas including Maoist affected areas of the state for smooth conduct of elections.
In all these constituencies polling will start at 8.00 AM on Tuesday.
In the second phase of elections, 17 seats are reserved for the scheduled tribes, while nine for the scheduled castes.
AIR correspondent reports, in the second phase of Assembly elections in Chhattisgarh, Raipur South constituency is having maximum 38 candidates; whereas, in the Saraipali seat only Five contestants are in the race.
In this phase, more than 1 crore 39 lakh voters are eligible to exercise their franchise.
For balloting more than 18000 polling booths have been set up.
Out of these, 4594 have been identified as sensitive, while 1398 polling booths are hyper sensitive.
To ensure free and fair elections, the Election Commission will carry out videography in 3000 polling centers.
In addition to this, more than 4600 Micro Observes have also been deployed.
Meanwhile, in Sukma district of Chhattisgarh, one CRPF jawan was injured in a maoist attack.
This incident took place in Chintallnaar area when a team of Kobra battalion of CRPF was on a search operation.
