In Chhattisgarh, a special campaign is being conducted for identification of TB patients under the National TB Eradication Program. In the first phase, intensive testing is being conducted among high risk groups. AIR correspondent reports, the special campaign to identify TB patients is being conducted in a phased manner by the Department of Health and Family Welfare of Chhattisgarh Government. In the first phase, tests are conducted among jailed inmates, mine workers, urban slums, old age homes, migrant labourers and health workers.<br />'' <br />''Director of Health and Family Welfare Department Dr. Priyanka Shukla said that about two lakh 24 thousand people have been tested so far under this campaign which was started from January this year.  Among them, 2029 suspected patients and 34 TB positive have been identified. Immediate treatment and counseling have been started for the patients found TB positive.<br />'' <br />''<span style="color: #222222;">Besides, people are also being made aware about ways to prevent TB. In the second phase of the campaign, the entire population will be surveyed from house to house for one month. During the campaign, about seven lakh people will be tested.
