Chhattisgarh: 6 persons including 5 security personnel injured in IED blast in Bijapur district of Bastar division

In Chhattisgarh, six persons, including 5 security personnel, were injured in an IED blast in Bijapur district of Bastar division this morning. <br />''<br />''AIR correspondent reports that Maoists triggered the blast targeting a truck carrying BSF team at Bijapur – Bhopalpattanam national highway today morning. <br />''<br />''The incident took place near Shringar nala at Mahadev ghat in Modakpal area, about 7 kilometers from Bijapur district headquarters. The BSF team was returning from the election duty. The injured persons include, four jawans of Border Security Force- BSF, one jawan of District Reserve Guard- DRG and a civilian.<br />''<br />''Condition of two injured jawans is reported to be critical. Injured jawans belonged to 414 battalion of BSF. After the primary treatment at district hospital of Bijapur, the injured persons have been airlifted to the state capital Raipur for better treatment.  According to police officials, Reinforcement had been reached at the spot.<br />''<br />''<span style="color: #222222;">Bijapur is one of the eight Maoist affected districts of Chhattisgarh, where polling for first phase of assembly elections took place on November 12. All polling parties have returned safely to the district headquarters. Now the security forces are returning from the interior areas. More than 1 lakh 20 thousand jawans of Central Para Military forces had been deployed for the smooth conduct of elections in Chhattisgarh.</span>
