In Bihar the Chhath Puja is being celebrated with religious fervors and gaiety. Chhath is considered a means to thank the Sun God for bestowing the bounties of life on the earth and prosperity. During Chhath Puja Worshippers do fasting of 36 hrs without taking food and water. Lakhs of devotees standing in knee deep water on the banks of rivers, ponds and water reservoirs through out the state paid oblations to the setting Sun this evening. After paying oblations to the rising Sun on Sunday morning the Chhath festival will come to an end.<br/><br/>A large number of devotees performed Chhath puja celeberations at Sun temple in Deo of Aurangabad , Bargao of Nalanda and Pandarak in Patna districts of the state.<br/><br/>AIR Patna correspondent reports that’s the whole atmosphere is reverbating with devotional folk songs. Roads and Ghats have been tastefully decorated with flowers and lights of different colours. <br/><br/>Elaborate arrangements have been made to ensure a trouble free congregation at all the ghats trough out the state for Chhath Puja. It is belief that those who observe Chhath festival with serenity and purity of heart their wishes are fulfilled.
