Goalkeeper Bharat Chetri was on Thursday named captain of the Indian hockey team for the tour of Australia starting next month. The 27-year-old custodian who replaces Rajpal as the skipper, will lead the country for the first time in his career. Sandeep Singh and Sardara Singh who were handed a two-year ban by Hockey India for indiscipline only to be lifted later, have found a place in the squad.During the tour of Australia, India will play a four-nation nine-a-side International Super Series tournament and another International tournament featuring Pakistan and the home team. The four-nation Super Series event will also include Pakistan and New Zealand. An 18-member Indian women's hockey team for next month's Australian tour has also been announced. Experienced striker Saba Anjum will lead the team. The women's team will play a four-match Test series against the hosts and also a three-nation nine-a-side International Super Series tournament.
