Cheques and bank drafts will be valid only for 3 months with effect from 1st April. The step has been taken by the Reserve Bank of India to check frauds related to such instruments.The RBI has directed that with effect from April 1, banks should not make payments against cheques, drafts, pay orders or banker's cheques if these are presented after the three months period from the date of issue.
