After imposing restrictions on flying kites and playing cricket on the Marina beach, Chennai police are now to set their eyes on the sea. The Joint Commissioner of Police (central) Mr.V.A.Ravikumar has said that 122 persons including 19 children drowned in the sea in the central and south zones since January 2008. Hence swimming and bathing in deep sea would attract intervention of the police. Though it might not be a punishable offence, police would be sensitizing those having waist deep in water to avoid risking of their lives.<br/>
