In Chennai, the city police killed a gang of 5 members allegedly involved in a bank robbery case in a shoot out in the early hours of this morning. Police Commissioner J K Tripathi told newsmen that a police team were fired upon by the gang, when they had surrounded a house in Vellachery, where they were hiding. In the resultant shoot out the gang members were killed. Mr Tripathy said two police officers who were injured in the incident have been admitted to hospital.
