In the first match in Chennai Open tennis main draw that began today, qualifier Ante Pavic shocked the Spaniard Nicolas Almagro by winning in style by 3-6, 7-5, 7-6. The opening game was played at the Nungambakkam Tennis stadium this evening.Though Almagro, who ranks 73 in the ATP World ranking won the first set, Pavic gave him a tough fight in the next two and overpowered him. The qualifier wrapped it up by battling it out for two hours and four minutes and advanced to the next level.In the second game held at the first court, John Millman of Australia won Evgeny Donskoy of Russia by 6-7, 6-4, 7-6 in a battle of 2 hours 38 minutes.
