Making a stupendous start to his 2016 season, wild card entrant Ramkumar beat his Spanish rival Daniel Gimeno-Traver 6-2, 6-0 in the opening round of ATP Chennai Open. This was the second biggest win of Ramkumar's career. However, Somdev Devvarman was knocked out of the Chennai Open yesterday. Somdev, ranked 177th, lost 3-6, 6-3, 3-6 to 18 year old Russian wild card entry Andrey Rublev in the first round match.
