Chennai Open: Purav-Sela, Balaji-Ramanathan enter Doubles QFs

India's Purav Raja and his Israeli team-mate Dudi Sela, and the duo of N. Sriram Balaji and Ramkumar Ramanathan have stormed into the quarterfinals of the ATP Chennai Open Tennis tournament. In the Men's Doubles opening round yesterday, Raja and Sela defeated the American-German team of Nicholas Monroe and Frank Moser, 7-6, 6-1, while the Balaji-Ramanathan pair beat the American duo of Scott Lipsky and Rajeev Ram, 7-5, 6-3.Divij Sharan, however, was not lucky as he had to withdraw from the contest due to injury to his Taipei partner Yen-Hsun Lu.Leander Paes also withdrew from the tournament, due to injury to his team-mate Fabio Fognini of Italy.For a semi-final berth today, the top seeded Indo-Pak pair of Rohan Bopanna and Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi will take on the Indo-Russian team of Saketh Myneni and Karen Khachanov, while Purav Raja and Dudi Sela will clash with Sweden's Johan Brunstrom and Frederik Nielsen.
