Government has said that the expansion of Domestic and International Terminals at Chennai airport is expected to be completed by the end of the year. In a written reply in the Rajya Sabha, the Minister of Civil Aviation Mr. Vayalar Ravi said that the Defence Authorities have given working permission to Airports Authority of India for remaining three acre of land for setting up utility tunnel, service road and other related infrastructure. He said, International Civil Aviation Organisation, ICAO has submitted the Feasibility Report regarding setting up a new airport at Sriperumbudur near Chennai. He said, phase I of the Report has been submitted to the Tamil Nadu Government for further action.
