Chef Sanjeev Kapoor may prepare menu of Navodaya schools: Irani

Union Human Resources Development Minister Smriti Irani has said, her ministry has decided to rope in celebrity chef Sanjeev Kapoor to prepare menu of food to be served at all Navodaya Vidyalayas of the country. She said, staff and cooks of these residential schools would also be trained by celebrity chef Kapoor. Mrs. Irani was addressing the stone-laying ceremony of Jawahar Navodaya Vodyalay and hostel complex at Hathijan village near Ahmedabad last evening. She said, the decision was taken to provide best facilities to the students of Navodaya schools run by the Ministry of Human Resource Development.<br/><br/>The Minister said, the Navodaya Vidyalayas will also have smart classrooms, which will reflect Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Digital India' vision. Mrs. Irani also announced to set up two more Navodaya Vidyalayas in Valsad and Dahod districts in Gujarat in near future. AIR correspondent reports that the work of Navodaya Vidyalay and student Hostel at Hathijan village will be completed at the cost of 25 crore rupees by 2019. Navodaya Vidyalayas affiliated to the CBSE syllabus offer free education to meritorious students of class VI to XII, mainly from rural areas.<br/><br/>
