Chechnya parliament attack: 6 killed, 17 injured

In Russia, six people have been killed and 17 others injured in a terrorists attack on parliament in the restive republic of Chechnya. Shouting Islamist slogans, atleast 3 millitants wearing suicide vests today stormed and seized Parliament of Chechnya region and held lawmakers and officials hostage, before being eliminated in a standoff with security forces. The attack took place as deputies arrived for work. Two guards and an official were among the killed in the attack. Chechnya's president Ramzan Kadyrov said all the attackers have been killed by security men.Deputies inside the building managed to escape by moving to an upper floor. Reports say the incident in the capital Grozny is a reminder that the region is far from stable.Last year Moscow declared victory against Chechen separatists and there has been a relative lull in the violence under Kadyrov.
