The Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Prithviraj Chavan today said in Mumbai that although the advent of RTI Act has slowed down the decision making process it has given a fresh impetus to transparency in governance. While speaking about the new role of states in being catalysts for growth, at the closing of India Economic Summit in Mumbai today, he said that because of the introduction of the RTI Act, everybody has become extremely cautious and thus decision making has slowed down.Speaking on the issue of preference of Industrialists for setting up companies in Gujarat, Prithviraj Chavan said that a good competition among states is always good and he had never insisted that all industrial investments must come to Maharashtra.
