Indian skipper, Mahendra Singh Dhoni says, chasing a 290-run target on a bouncy track like Kingsmead was always going to be tough but gettable if the visitors had not lost early wickets. In the first one-day international on Wednesday, India suffered a top-order collapse to slump to a humiliating 135-run defeat against South Africa. Talking to reporters in Durban on Wednesday night, Dhoni said that India lost four wickets for a mere 43 runs and the poor start pressured the lower half of the batting order. He praised the performance of India's part-time bowlers and said that the team could have done better. Defending the decision to include six batsmen in the squad, the skipper said that going for four bowlers was not a gamble as Kingsmead's was a bouncy track. He said that they could have negotiated the first ten overs and then could have gone for runs.
