Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar has said that with the changing of political landscape throughout the world, India's responsibility has grown to address the concerns of food security. Speaking at 2nd FICCI Sustainable Agriculture Summit and Award 2022 in New Delhi today, he also emphasized the use of technology in the agricultural sector to make it more sustainable and growth oriented.<br />''<br />''The Minister said, the agricultural industry has shown to be the country's backbone and has played a significant role during the Covid period. Mr Tomar said that since the Modi government came to power lots of schemes have been implemented to double farmer's income. The ministry also advocated the private investment in the agricultural sector to make it more self-sustained for the benefit of farmers.<br />''<br />''Highlighting the issues of the ministry, the Minister said in India 86 per cent are small farmers and there is a need to improve their situation. He added that, in this context the government is opening 10,000 new Farmer Producer Organisations &nbsp;and providing agriculturalcredit targets to 18 lakh crore crore for the 2022-23 fiscal from 16.50 lakh crore rupees.&nbsp;<br />''<br />''<br />
