Chandrasekharan murder case: 11 persons sentenced to life imprisonment

In Kerala, the Special Additional Sessions Court in Kozhikode today sentenced 11 persons to life imprisonment in connection with the TP Chandrasekharan murder case.

Those sentenced to life include the seven member gang involved in the killing of Chandrasekharan. The Special Additional Sessions Judge R Narayana Pisharody imposed a fine of Rs. 50,000 on them.

The CPI-M local leaders, K C Ramachandran, P K Kunjanandan, Manojan and another accused PV Rafeeq were among those sentenced to life imprisonment.

The court imposed a fine of Rs. one lakh on them.Another accused in the case, Pradeepan was sentenced to three years imprisonment and a fine of Rs. 20,000.

He was later granted bail till the 28th of next month. The Court asked him to furnish a bond for Rs. 50,000 and two solvent sureties for the like sum.

15 other accused in the case, whose trial was stayed by the Kerala High Court will be heard separately. The Court posted the proceedings to the 28th of next month.
