Chandrababu Naidu meets PM; raises issue of granting special status to Andhra Pradesh

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu met Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Parliament House this morning. <br/><br/>Sources said during the meeting, Mr. Naidu raised the issue of granting special status to Andhra Pradesh. <br/><br/>They said, the Chief Minister told the Prime Minister that a special status was assured to the state after its bifurcation by his predecessor Dr Manmohan Singh. <br/><br/>He said, the TDP and BJP had also made promise in this regard during the polls which must be delivered. <br/><br/>Mr. Naidu also had meetings with President Pranab Mukherjee, Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, Information and Broadcasting Minister Venkaiah Naidu and Human Resource Development Minister Prakash Javadekar.<br/> <br/>AIR correspondent reports that TDP is an ally of ruling NDA. With the Congress and YSR Congress Party also demanding a special status, the pressure has been mounting on the TDP over the issue.
