Member of National Commission for Women Chandra Mukhi Devi has demanded immediate appointment of members in the women's commission of Maharashtra. After taking the cognizance of rape and murder of a woman in Saki Naka area in Mumbai, NCW delegation today visited the Saki Naka area and also met the relatives of the victim. The NCW team is expected to submit its report after its return to Delhi.<br />''<br />''<span style="color: #000000;">NCW member Chandra Mukhi Devi has said that the Maharashtra government should immediately appoint the members of the state women commission and help the relatives of the victim in Saki Naka from Nirbhaya Fund. While speaking to reporters after visiting the victim's family Chandramukhi Devi came out with many suggestions to the state government. She said the state government should make serious efforts to improve the situation about the safety of women in the state and take serious action against the culprits. She said that the Maharashtra government has not even constituted the state women commission. She expressed displeasure about the statement made by Mumbai Police Commissioner Hemant Nagrale in this case. She said that the team will submit its report to NCW. Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray had convened a meeting of senior police officials of Mumbai yesterday. He said that the trial in the case will be held on a fast track and the victim, who succumbed to injuries, will get justice. Mumbai Police Commissioner, Hemant Nagrale said the city police has formed a Special Investigation Team to probe the incident which will be headed by Assistant Commissioner of Police Jyotsna Rasam. Meanwhile, BJP and RPI activists today staged protests in Mumbai and criticised the state government.</span><br />
