Chandigarh wins national award for earmarking land for poor

The City Beautiful-Chandigarh has been awarded a National Award under JNNURM scheme for being the ‘Best city in earmarking land for the poor’ for the year 2008-09.<br/><br/>The award carries a certificate of appreciation, a trophy and Rs 2 lakh.<br/><br/>The Prime Minister of India, Dr Manmohan Singh today presented the award at New Delhi.<br/><br/>The award was received by the Governor of Punjab and Administrator UT, Chandigarh, General (Retd.) Dr. S.F. Rodrigues, Finance Secretary, Mr. Sanjay Kumar and Chairman, Chandigarh Housing Board (CHB), Dr. Mohanjeet Singh.<br/>
