Chandigarh has won the 3rd Hockey India Sub-Junior Men National Championship (North Zone) title defeating Punjab by 2-1, which concluded at Sonepat today. Punjab took lead in the 20th minute through a field goal by Kawaljit Singh. But just three minutes later Manjinder Singh scored the goal for Chandigarh.In the second half, Chandigarh emerged victorious finally, when Harmeet Singh scored a field goal in the 64th minute.Meanwhile, Haryana has won the 3rd Hockey India Sub-Junior Women North Zone National Championship defeating Chandigarh team by one goal. Haryana was leading by 2-0 at half time beacause of two goals by Udita at 14th and 24th minutes. Anjali of Chandigarh reduced the margin in the 50th minute but Haryana`s Navpreet Kaur`s field goal in the 61st minutewas instrumental in defeating the Chandigarh team.
