In a major breakthrough in Chandel Army ambush case, National Investigation Agency has arrested the accused Naorem Premkanta Singh. A pistol and five live rounds have also been recovered from his possession. He had been absconding since the ambush took place. <br/><br/>The accused was found involved in a case related to ambush on Army personnel at Chandel District of Manipur in June, 2015, in which 18 army soldiers were killed. The agency said, the accused belongs to a banned terror organisation Kanglei Yawol Kanna Lup. <br/><br/>NIA said, the accused was arrested in a joint operation by the agency and Manipur Police. The accused had carried a reward of two lakh rupees on his head announced by the NIA.
