India defeated Sri Lanka by 5 wickets in a warm-up match of the ICC Champions Trophy Cricket tournament at Birmingham. Put into bat, Sri Lanka posted a mammoth 333 for 3 in the alloted 50 overs, with a brilliant 209-run opening wicket partnership between Kusal Perera and Tillakaratne Dilshan. Dilshan top scored for the Lankans with 84, while Perera made 82. In a thrilling reply, riding on Virat Kohli's exceptional 144 and Dinesh Karthik's superb 106 not out, India overhauled the target with one over to spare and 5 wickets in hand. India will take on Australia in their second and final warm-up match at Cardiff on Tuesday.In the opening Group-B match of the tournament on Thursday, India will clash with South Africa at Cardiff. India is placed in Group-B alongside South Africa, Pakistan and the West Indies, while Australia, Sri Lanka, England and New Zealand are in Group-A.
