India will take on Australia in semi-finals of the Champions Trophy Hockey tournament at Melbourne in Australia tomorrow. The other semi-final will also be played tomorrow between Pakistan and the Netherlands. India turned a leaf in their hockey history to enter the semi-finals on their return to the tournament after a gap of six years. Topping pool A, they beat Belgium 1-0 in a tense quarter-final to book a meeting with Australia in the semis. Nithin Thimmiah's goal in the first half gave India the fillip they needed. Australia beat England 2-0 in the quarter-finals to keep their hopes alive of 5th successive title.Earlier, Pakistan defeated Germany 2-1 in the first quarter-finals yesterday while the Netherlands beat New Zealand 2-0 in the second quarterfinals.
