Champions Trophy: England to take on New Zealand

England will take on New Zealand in a Group-A match of the ICC Champions Trophy Cricket tournament today. The match will be played at the Sophia Gardens in Cardiff at 3 PM Indian Time. At present, Group-A is still wide open, with all the four teams — New Zealand, England, Sri Lanka and Australia — in the race for the remaining two semifinal spots. New Zealand is at the top with 3 points, England is second and Sri Lanka is third with 2 points each, while defending champions Australia are fourth with just 1 point. The winner of today's match will strengthen its chances of making to the knock-out stage, and then wait for the result of tomorrow's game between Sri Lanka and Australia, which will decide which two teams finally book the two semi-final berths from Group-A.In yesterday's rain-marred final Group-B fixture, Team India defeated Pakistan by 8 wickets, to register their first Champions Trophy victory against their arch-rivals.India and South are the two teams from Group-B, which have made it to the semi-finals.The two semi-finals will take place on Wednesday and Thursday, while the title clash of the competition is slated for Sunday.
