Champions League Twenty 20, CLT20, has been scrapped with immediate effect. Announcing the decision today, BCCI Secretary Anurag Thakur said that CLT20 wasn't sustaining the interest of the fans and popularity of the tournament in respect of domestic T20 tournaments. He said this decision was made after consultation with all the commercial partners and meeting the contractual obligations of all parties involved.This decision was taken unanimously by Governing Council of CLT20, comprising BCCI, Cricket South Africa and Cricket Australia.As per the plans the schedule 2015 CLT20 was to be played in September and October this year, now remains scrapped. The competition was launched in 2009.This decision comes a day after a panel appointed by Supreme Court has suspended two IPL teams for two years over a corruption scandal.
