Chabahar port will be a game changer: Gadkari

Union Minister for Road Transport, Highways and Shipping Nitin Gadkari has said, the Chabahar port project in Iran will be a game changer in developing trade relations between India, Iran and Afghanistan. In an exclusive talk to AIR in Tehran, Mr Gadkari said, the first phase of the port will be made ready by India within 18 months.<br/><br/>The Minister said, the Chabahar Free Trade Zone will benefit Indian businesses as power and natural gas is cheaper in Iran, throwing new opportunities open for Indian businesses. India will be investing 200 million dollars for the development of the port and he said it is a win-win for both India and Iran.<br/><br/>When asked about the scheduled meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi with the Supreme Leader of Iran Ayatollah Ali Khamenei later in the evening, Mr Gadkari said, it reflects the level of commitments both Mr Modi and the Iranian top leadership have on elevating bilateral relations to a higher level.
