In Chhattisgarh, three security personnel were killed and nearly 20 seriously injured when Maoist attacked a team of Central Reserve Police Force near Tongpal in Sukma district today.

Police said, the CRPF team, belonging to 80th Battalion, were part of a road opening party which had left Tongpal early morning when Maoists triggered an IED and opened indiscriminate fire on them.

Our Raipur correspondent reports that the exact number of causalities would become clear only after rescue and relief team reach the spot. A helicopter has been pressed into service to evacuate the injured from the dense forest area.
