The Centre's talk with Jat leaders remained inconclusive today as the Jat leaders refused to give further time to the government to decide on Job quota in OBC category. The leader of Akhil Bhartiya Jat Arakshan Sangharsh Samiti Yashpal Malik claimed after an hour long meeting with Union Home Minister P. Chidambaram in New Delhi that the Centre has termed their demand as justified but has given no clear cut assurance. Malik said the issue can not be left open for an indefinite period and they want a definite time frame to implement the quota.The agitators had cleared the Railway track at Kafurpur station in Jyotiba Phule Nagar of Uttar Pradesh after strictures from the High Court. However, the leaders said that they have shifted the protest venue from rail track to the platform and their protest will continue till their demands are met.Taking suo motu cognisance of public inconvenience caused by the ongoing Jat agitation, the Allahabad High Court had yesterday directed officials of Uttar Pradesh and the Central government to clear railway tracks and national highways. The UP government has rushed additional forces to Kafurpur to avert any mishap.The rail traffic on Moradabad-Delhi section of Northern Railaway had come to a grinding halt for past two weeks due to Jat agitation. On an average 50 trains were diverted or cancelled everyday.
