Finance Ministry has asked Swiss authority for information on Indian account holders in their country.

Official sourced said a letter in this regard has already been sent to the Swiss government. Earlier, the Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said that the letter was sent to Swiss authority so that sharing of information could be expedited and cooperation between India and Siwtzerland can bear fruitful result.

AIR correspondent reports that Switzerland has been under tremendous pressure from international community including India to share information on the bank accounts which are often allegedly used by people or institutions to evade tax in their respective countries.
