Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee today said that centre is working out a special package for West Bengal to tide over its financial crisis. Briefing reporters in New Delhi ahead of his meeting with West Bengal Finance Minister Amit Mitra, Mr. Mukherjee said that he will discuss all the issues in the meeting to formulate a sustainable assistance package to accomodate the debt ridden state. He added that one major signal has already been given to West Bengal when the Planning Commission sanctioned over twenty thousand crore rupees for development works. The Finance Minister also said that the centre will ensure that the state does not come under a fresh debt trap.
