Centre will inquire into allegation that cabinet secrets leaked: Narayanasamy

Union Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Mr V.Narayanasamy today said that the centre will inquire into the allegation that cabinet secrets were leaked by Mr. Ananth Kumar to corporate lobbyist Ms Nira Radia, during the NDA regime. Radia’s ex-business partner Dheeraj Singh had alleged that Ananth Kumar, when he was minister of Civil Aviation and again Urban Development Minister in the Atal Behari Vajpayee government, had helped her by allotting land to a trust run by her. He had also said that Kumar had helped Radia by offering her access to confidential files of the cabinet. Speaking to Newsmen in Chennai today, he said if the allegation is true, then it would amount to being an anti-national act and the centre would take action on it.On the impasse in Parliament on the 2 G Spectrum issue, Mr Narayanasamy said the Speaker of the Lok sabha Mrs Meera Kumar has convened an all party meeting on the 30th of this month, to find a solution to the Logjam. He said the government was ready for a debate on the spectrum issue in parliament but alleged that the opposition parties including the BJP were not interested to go into the truth of the case.Dismissing demands for a JPC to go into the spectrum allocation , Mr Narayansamy said going by past experience nothing would come out of such a probe. He said the Public Accounts Committee is more powerful than the JPC and said the government has already committed to support it in its inquiry.
