Centre welcomes SC decision in Coal block allocation case saying it will help govt to allocate mines afresh

Government has said Supreme Court’s decision to cancel the allocation of 214 coal blocks was in accordance with its stand and will enable it to make a fresh allocation.

Talking to reporters in New Delhi Law and Telecom Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said ,basically, the judgement is in accord with the Central Government 's stand in affidavit.Coal and Power minister Piyush Goyal has also welcomed the Supreme Court's verdict .

The Supreme Court quashed allocation of 214 of 218 coal blocks alloted between 1993 and 2010 yesterday.
