The Centre has warned the NGOs and private companies against misuse of the name of the National Centre of Organic Farming,NCOF, which is functioning under the Agriculture Ministry.

An official statement said, it has come to the notice that some NGOs and industries are using the name of national and regional centres of organic farming in various ways.

The statement noted that the NCOF has clarified that using name of National and Regional Centres of Organic Farming without any authorisation is illegal and prosecutable under the law.

It has added that the government agency also said that it has not authorised any NGO and industry to use their name in any manner.
