The Supreme Court has withdrawn its decision to name a former Australian judge James Spigelman as third arbitrator for resolution of disputes between Reliance Industries and the Centre over KG basin gas exploration.Justice SS Nijjar agreed to withdraw the former Australian Judge's name after the Centre contended that the name of Spigelman was mentioned in the list of names proposed by Reliance Industries for appointment as an Independent arbitrator. The apex court had on March 31 named Spigelman as third arbitrator who shall act as the Chairman of arbitral tribunal whose two other members are Former Chief Justice of India SP Bharucha and VN Khare. While Mukesh Ambani led Reliance has nominated Justice Bharucha, Justice Khare is the Centre's nominee.
