Centre urges state to take proactive measures to check sale of expired medicines

Centre today urged the state governments to take proactive measures to check the sale of substandard and expired medicines. Replying to a question raised by Naresh Agrawal of SP during Zero Hour in the Rajya Sabha, Health Minister J P Nadda said, the Central government is sensitive to the issue. <br/><br/>He said, the states are responsible to keep an eye on the quality of medicines being sold in the open market. Mr. Nadda said, the Centre only provides funds to them for laboratories, testing and trainings to check the quality of drugs.
